Snowstorm Recovery Tips

As we continue to recover from the recent snowstorm, we are watching the forecast closely. The potential for rain following a significant snowfall poses a threat for future property damage. Here are some snowstorm recovery tips to keep your home safe and dry after a large snowfall:

  • Ensure snow is cleared away from the building’s foundation, pay close attention around low windows and other easy access points.
  • Clear snow away from downspouts and make sure water has a clear path to drain away from the building.
  • If you have buried drainage, clear around the grates by the downspouts and the drain lines’ exits. Make sure water has a clear path to drain away from the building. If the downspout line attaches directly to the drainage pipe, disconnect the drainage pipe and provide a new water path to flow away from the building.
  • Consider clearing the snow from your roof if there is significant buildup.

We will continue to communicate any snow removal or ice control plans for each event to our snow removal clients. If you would like to sign up for snow removal services, let us know, and one of our account managers will get you set up. Stay safe!
